1AM TOKYO: IN A PLACE & TIME

In a place and time
In a place and time, you are no longer mine
A thousand memories, but they are only memories
To fade away
Into your suppressant mind
Time is at a stand still
To go back
Would be a dream
But it would not be the same
It is never the same.
Cold wind chills
A storm on the horizon
Clouds that move in a vacant stand still
As if time has stopped
But you are still breathing, are you not?
To inhale the fresh seaforth air
Rare amongst the sky scrappers, of the city line
Waves crash along the shore line
Angry
Anger from the wild wind blows
Anguish
Moods that change from glee
Unhappiness
Surrounding
Grey is the colour
But the seasons pass
They long for the summer
To come soon enough.

WIN LANEWAY FESTIVAL TICKETS!!!

Since its inception in 2004 in Melbourne, Australia, the Laneway Festival has become synonymous, as they say, with hot summer days, awesome locations and diverse, forward-thinking line-ups filled to overflowing with vital, surprising bands. Favouring talent over mainstream success, Laneway has consistently brought compelling, boundary-pushing acts to discerning punters and next year’s event will continue that tradition. With Sydney and Melbourne Laneway Festivals having already sold out, Aucklands second Laneway Festival in the newly revamped AOTEA SQUARE is looking to follow suit with one of the best line-ups ever, featuring, on two different stages: YEASAYER, FOALS, LADYHAWKE, CHK CHK CHK, DEERHUNTER, BLONDE REDHEAD, CHILDREN’S HOUR, WARPAINT, BEACH HOUSE, ARIEL PINK’S HAUNTED GRAFITTI, LAWRENCE ARABIA, HOLY FUCK, AN EMERALD CITY.

And now, after performing the day before at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival in Auckland, a finely selected group of bands and musicians from the Laneway line-up will head to the Wellington Town Hall. Punters unable to make it north to the full festival will be guaranteed a special evening of musical discovery and appreciation featuring on the bill: LADYHAWKE, YEASAYER, DEERHUNTER, BEACH HOUSE, BLONDE REDHEAD, ARIEL PINK’S HAUNTED GRAFITTI.

Congratulations to TONI ROBERTS and LOUISE ASHFORD winners of the Laneway’s double passes! – Don’t miss out on other giveways and prize offers like this in the future, SUBSCRIBE to 1AM below to be in to WIN!

EPIC CHANEL SPRING 2011 SHOW PARIS

For his last CHANEL collection he put an iceberg in the middle of the Grand Palais in Paris, this time for the Spring Summer 2011 ready to wear collection Karl Lagerfeld completely transformed it into a breathtakingly surreal setting inspired by the 60’s avante-garde movie Last Year at Marienbad mirroring one of the film’s most famous scenes with a monochrome ornamental garden, complete with fountains and close to 100 models parading to a full orchestra of 80 musicians sawing through romantic arrangements of Björk, the Verve, and John “007″ Barry for the 18-minute show – a must see now up on the CHANEL website here.

MEGALITHIC NEW ZEALAND

Ancient Neolithic monuments of stone age Great Britain or hillocky NZ farmland? If you didn’t know that these photos by 1AM’s Glenn Hunt were taken just outside of Rotorua NZ, you would be forgiven for mistaking them as landscapes picturing the ancient barrows, stone cairn burial mounds and megalithic monuments typical to the Celtic cultures of the 1st millennium AD found throughout  Northern Europe, supposed now by some to have been prevalent throughout this country pre-dating the arrival of the Maori by hundreds if not thousands of years! see http://www.celticnz.co.nz/
